Environmental Operator/Water Distribution
Cobble Hill Improvement District (CHID)
Cobble Hill Improvement District is a community owned and operated potable water system serving Cobble Hill Village on Vancouver Island. The system is managed by a community board of directors and maintained by a Certified Environmental Operator.
The system provides potable water to 340 connections. The system also supports excellent fire protection from 36 community fire hydrants located throughout the CHID.
Water sampling system. The quality of the water is such that no disinfection treatment is required.
Much work is undertaken daily and weekly in order to maintain the system including, but not limited to, water testing, metre repairs and reading, fire hydrant management. The current full time operator handles all day-to-day duties and tasks and has been in the position for many years. CHID is seeking an individual who will support the current operator with the intention of the incumbent eventually taking over the position.
CHID is now accepting applications for the part-time position of Environmental Operator in Training with the goal of becoming a Certified EOCP Water Distribution Environmental Operator. All training course costs will be covered by the employer.
Position is part-time with flexible hours.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
Ability to lift up to 50lbs

Clear and Effective Communication Skills
Related work experience a plus
High school graduation diploma
